2006 Southern Fruit Fiesta to open in Ho Chi Minh City
Nearly 1,000 tonnes of fruits of more than 50 varieties from the southern localities will be showcased at the third Southern Fruit Fiesta scheduled to open at Ho Chi Minh City-based Suoi Tien Tourism Site on May 27, according to the city Tourism Department.
Visitors to the festival will have a chance to not only enjoy such specialties as blue dragon fruits, durians, pomelo, and star apples from nine southern provinces but also take part in various vibrant activities, including a parade of fruit-decorated trucks, a bonsai exposition and a fruit and plants pruning contest.
The event, which is expected to welcome more than one million visitors, will last through June 4.
